For over 15 years John Lees has been invited to act as an expert witness in civil litigation matters, and has provided hundreds of reports relating to loss of earnings, careers, recruitment patterns and labour markets, drawing upon his experience in the following fields: recruitment and selection, staff supply, career development, job search, return-to-work patterns for disabled job seekers.

John is frequently asked to give evidence in armed forces cases. He has trained personnel from both the RAF and Royal Navy in staff selection techniques and has run resettlement counselling for Army personnel. He was the joint author of the Careers Advisers Initial Training Manual for the Royal Navy Careers Service.
